About Us

Laurel and Lore is a space created for slowing down, reconnecting, and returning to what feels real. Tucked among the oaks, our sanctuary invites you to step away from the noise, breathe deeper, and let nature do what she has always done—restore, ground, and guide us back to ourselves.

Our name reflects the heart of our vision. Laurel symbolizes protection, peace, and renewal. Lore speaks to the stories we carry, the wisdom we gather, and the belief that every experience becomes part of who we’re becoming. Together, Laurel and Lore represents a place where your wellbeing and your inner world are honored—where the land, the trees, and the energy around you all play a role in your healing.

We believe that when we take the time to slow down, we create the conditions for true transformation. Stillness softens the edges. Nature rebalances the nervous system. Connection—both inner and outer—reminds us what matters. Healing happens in the quiet moments when we finally let ourselves be.

At Laurel and Lore, we design experiences that encourage presence, nurture curiosity, and invite you to come home to yourself… one intentional moment at a time.

Laurel and Lore was founded by Ivelisse and Ogun, a married couple whose life and family have been rooted in the Lowcountry for over two decades.

It began as a pause—an in-between moment where one chapter ended and another slowly revealed itself.

We originally purchased an RV with the intention of living in it while building our home on land we had just bought. Renting it out was never part of the plan. But life unfolded differently than expected. We ended up purchasing a house sooner than anticipated, and suddenly the RV was no longer needed in the way we had imagined.

Rather than selling it, we placed it at the back of our land and decided to share the space—allowing others to enjoy the quiet, the trees, and the open skies that had already begun to feel so grounding to us.

What followed surprised us.

Guests didn’t just stay the night—they slowed down. They talked about the birds in the morning, the stillness, the feeling of being tucked into nature. They lingered outdoors. Again and again, people commented on how peaceful it felt to simply be there, surrounded by land and silence.

As we listened, the vision began to grow.

At first, we thought about adding small comforts—a hot tub, a few intentional touches to enhance the experience. But at the same time, we were each on our own deeper journeys—asking questions, seeking healing, and reconnecting with what truly matters. Naturally, the idea evolved into something more aligned with where we were spiritually and energetically.

That evolution became our wellness space.

What is now taking shape is a sanctuary designed to support reflection, healing, and presence. A space that will continue to grow over time—eventually welcoming offerings like sauna and cold plunge—while remaining rooted in simplicity, nature, and intention. A place where people can be with themselves, reconnect with the land, and explore healing in whatever way feels right to them.

We believe there has never been a more important time for spaces like this. In a world that feels increasingly fast, loud, and disconnected, we see this as an opportunity to shift energy—creating an environment grounded in calm, care, and conscious intention.

Laurel and Lore is for the community.
For those who are curious.
For those seeking rest, healing, or clarity.
And for anyone who feels called to slow down, step outside, and reconnect with the truth of who they are.

Our Story

Ogun Cananoglu

Energy Practitioner

Laurel and Lore is also shaped by Ogun’s unique journey.

Born in Cyprus, Ogun has spent his life drawn to the deeper questions—philosophy, human nature, metaphysics, and the mysteries that lie beneath our everyday lives.

In 1997, Ogun experienced a moment that would quietly shape the rest of his life. While spending time with his cousin, he noticed a profound difference in his presence—his energy felt calmer, clearer, and deeply grounded. When he learned that his cousin practiced Transcendental Meditation (TM), something resonated immediately. Ogun knew he needed to experience this for himself. He began practicing TM soon after and has maintained a consistent meditation practice ever since, forming the foundation of his lifelong relationship with inner stillness, self-inquiry, and conscious living.

With over 15 years of experience in hospitality and service leadership across the U.S. and the U.K., he has always been connected to people, their stories, and their inner worlds.

His path took a profound turn after the sudden passing of his father in 2021. This became a wake-up call that shifted everything. Ogun left a secure executive role in the corporate world and devoted himself to understanding the nature of healing, consciousness, and purpose. His studies in energy work, chakra balancing, past-life exploration, sound healing, and Quantum Healing Hypnosis Technique (QHHT) became not just practices, but a way of life.

Discovering Dolores Cannon’s teachings in 2015 brought clarity, resonance, and direction—opening the doorway to the work he feels called to share today.

Philosophy and Approach

Since childhood, I’ve always sensed that we are more than a physical body—
that energy is never created or destroyed, only carried, remembered, and transformed.
This curiosity led me to explore the deeper layers of who we are: our emotions, our energy centers, our biofield, and the subtle ways our past shapes our present.

Over the years, I became deeply attuned to the energetic landscape within the body—the flow of frequency, the movement of the chakras, and the delicate rhythm of the biofield. I sought training that aligned with this knowing: studying energetic anatomy, chakra alignment, the biofield, solfeggio frequencies, sound therapy, and the remarkable clarity that comes through quantum hypnosis. Each modality affirmed what I always felt to be true: we are multidimensional beings, and this physical moment—this lifetime—is the one asking for our presence and attention.

At Laurel & Lore, my services are an extension of this understanding. Using tools such as solfeggio tuning forks, sound therapy, energy mapping with Bio-Well technology, and the transformational Quantum Hypnosis Technique, I help you explore the deeper layers of self—gently, safely, and with grounded compassion.

From an early age, I was a deep thinker—quietly observant, often lost in thought, and fascinated by what existed beneath the surface of things. I listened more than I spoke. I noticed details others overlooked. Even as a child, I carried an awareness that perception shapes experience—that how we see the world deeply influences where life leads us.

Over time and through many chapters, I drifted away from that inner knowing. Like many of us do, I became caught in the momentum of life. Yet the pull toward meaning, pattern, and story never fully left me.

That curiosity led me to study history and historic preservation. I was drawn not only to timelines and facts, but to the stories within spaces—the untold lives, the emotional residue held in buildings, and the way certain places seem to speak when you step inside them. I’ve always believed that spaces carry memory, that they hold quiet truths waiting to be felt rather than explained.

After working in museums and owning two businesses in Savannah, my life shifted when I became a mother. I stepped back professionally to focus on caring for my son, and later my daughter. Homeschooling our children became my primary work and my deepest commitment—one rooted in presence, curiosity, and honoring the natural rhythms of growth.

When we purchased the RV, I instinctively saw it as more than a place to stay. I saw it as an opportunity to create an experience. I poured care, intention, and story into every detail, trusting—without fully knowing how—that it would evolve into something more. Laurel and Lore unfolded organically from that knowing.

A pivotal moment in my own journey came in 2013, when I learned Transcendental Meditation. At the time, my mind felt overwhelmed, easily consumed by thought and worry. Watching my husband—who had meditated for many years—move through life with steadiness and clarity inspired me. Learning to meditate changed everything. It brought me back to the way I saw the world as a child—with wonder, openness, and a willingness to experience rather than fear.

That return—to curiosity, presence, and trust—is at the heart of Laurel and Lore.

With our camping experience and the creation of our wellness space, my hope is to offer others experiences that gently open doors—whether that leads to healing, reflection, inspiration, or simply a sense of ease. Not every path needs to be defined. Sometimes, making things feel a little lighter or clearer is enough.

This work is as much about our own continued growth as it is about holding space for others. We remain committed to learning, evolving, and using these tools consciously—believing that personal transformation ripples outward, shaping the energy we share with the world around us.
